Wednesday's Program: Classification Talks with Greg Crockett & Karen Baker

Location: The Waterfront in Snake River Landing

For decades Rotary International listed a range of professional “classifications” that restricted how many representatives of each could be in a club. This ensured that each club reflected the community in which it served and was a method used to avoid having one profession become the dominant voice of Rotary Clubs.

Over time, these restrictions gave way, but individual classification continues to be of great interest to your fellow club members. That’s why your Rotary badge carries your name and your classification.
Classification talks help us learn about the life experiences and professional backgrounds of new members – but they are not intended to “pitch” your profession for individual gain. We look forward to learning more about each of you in the coming months!

Hi, this is Josh Johnson. I would like to personally invite you to sign up for the Red Cross Blood Drive hosted by our Rotary Club.

The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.

Thank you for supporting the American Red Cross blood program!
Download the Red Cross Blood Donor App on the App Store, Google Play or text BLOODAPP to 90999. Schedule appointments, view your blood type and results of your mini-physical, and track your donations.

ALERT: There's new FDA blood donation eligibility guidance for those who receive a COVID-19 vaccination. If your donors receive a COVID-19 vaccine, knowing the name of the manufacturer is critical in determining blood donation eligibility. In most cases, there's no deferral time.  Learn More.

All blood donations are currently being tested for COVID-19 antibodies. Donations collected at your upcoming rive may now help current coronavirus patients battling the virus.

Review the Blood Program Leader alert for up-to-date news about COVID-19 and our safety precautions.

Sneak Peek into April Programs
You’ll notice a new monthly program starting in April entitled, “Classification Talks.”
For decades Rotary International listed a range of professional “classifications” and restricted how many representatives of each could be in a club. This ensures that each club reflects the community in which it serves. It also reminds us to not have one profession as a dominant voice in our club. Over time, these restrictions have pretty much given way, but your classification continues to be of great interest to your fellow club members. That’s why your Rotary badge carries your name and your classification.

Classification talks help us learn about the life experiences and professional backgrounds of new members – but they are not intended to “pitch” your profession for individual gain.
