Happy New Year! Embracing 2024 with "Every Rotarian, Every Year" Commitment

Dear Rotary Club Members,

I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits as we embark on the promising journey that is 2024. As we collectively step into the new year, I am filled with enthusiasm and gratitude for the incredible work our Rotary Club has accomplished and the positive impact we continue to make in our community.

Our commitment to service and the Rotary ideals has been unwavering, and I am confident that with the same spirit, we will achieve even greater heights in the coming months. As we set our sights on the future, I am excited to introduce the theme for this year: "Every Rotarian, Every Year."

This theme underscores the collective strength that each one of us brings to the Rotary Club. It emphasizes the idea that our combined efforts, no matter how big or small, contribute significantly to our shared goals. To sustain and enhance our impact, I am inviting each Rotarian to make a commitment to contribute $120 annually or $10 monthly towards our cause.

Your generous support will enable us to fund crucial projects, support community initiatives, and continue our mission of making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve. Together, we can truly embody the spirit of Rotary and amplify our impact.

I want to express my gratitude in advance to each Rotarian who chooses to participate in the "Every Rotarian, Every Year" initiative. Your dedication to our shared vision is what makes our Rotary Club a force for good in our community.

Let us step into 2024 with renewed energy, commitment, and a shared determination to create lasting change. Thank you for your continued dedication to the ideals of Rotary.

Yours in Rotary service,

Catherine Smith

Dave Facer, Executive Director of the College of Eastern Idaho Foundation - "Update on CEI"

January Program Chair:    Dave Facer
January Greeter:     Chris Aspinall
January Sergeant-At-Arms:  Michelle Mallard

David Facer’s non-profit career began at Children’s Miracle Network in Salt Lake City soon after he graduated from the University of Utah. He spent most of his time at CMN building a start-up event called “Dance Marathon” that is now hosted at over 400 colleges, universities and high schools across the United States and Canada.

Dave’s next stop was BYU-Idaho in Rexburg where he took a fledgling corporate and foundation effort and built it into a program that raised $4 million to $5 million annually.

After a two-year stint at Intermountain Healthcare, where he focused on fund-raising opportunities for the organization’s non-profit hospitals in central Utah, Dave took on the position of executive director at the College of Eastern Idaho Foundation in June of 2020.

When not at work Dave enjoys running, hiking, golf, home improvement, travel, a good book, and spending time with his family.

The 2023 Great Snake River Greenbelt Holiday Light Parade was a huge success! Thank you to the community for supporting this new event, thank you to all of the participants that decorated their UTVs and helped make the 2023 Great Snake River Greenbelt Holiday Light Parade a great event for the community and to our wonderful Rotarians that once again
showed up when we needed them!

"We thought it went well.  We had over 300 machines and raised just over 2,500 pounds of donated canned food which will go to the Community Food Basket" said Kevin Call.
MAC Concessions Service Project
Our Club's first Mountain America Center service project was January 4, 2024.  Nine Club members served in the ToPo Tato Food Concessions Booth, focusing on Idaho potatoes, with Brandi Newton serving as the Team Leader.  They sold out french fries, funnel cake fries and corn dogs!  Rotarians showed off those stellar up-selling skills and customer service.  We expect to learn the amount we raised in tips soon and we will report back to the Club as soon as we know that number.

Our next MAC Concessions service project is scheduled for January 20, 2024 with Kristin Sanger serving as the Team Leader.  Please sign up to serve at this weeks meeting for future dates as we have several additional dates and need all members to participate in this project.  Funds raised will benefit our Scholarship Program.
January 17, 2024 - No Club Meeting
