Greetings Rotary Family,

 

I am honored to fill the seat of Rotary President and will do my very best to serve you. I stand on the shoulders of all the great leaders that have served you before me and I strive to do my very best to support the club this year.  As the new President of our club, it is my pleasure to introduce our 2024/2025 Rotary Theme, "The Magic of Rotary"!  Webster's Dictionary defines Magic as "a noun, the power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces." In Rotary's case, I would update that definition to a verb, the power of people, influencing the course of events through volunteerism and fundraising because of supernatural commitment to our community. I hope you can agree with me on this updated definition of "Magic", because you are powerful, and I look forward to tapping in to the energy and talent that each of you have to offer to support our Rotary goals and make magical change happen in our community. 

 

I have an absolute love for this organization and am touched by watching and witnessing, busy people around the world doing projects that seem to magically improve and change lives; from building wells in Ghana, to educating young women in 3rd world countries, to abolishing the disabling disease of Polio, and more personally, developing the economic and lifestyle influencer of the Greenbelt/River Walk in our community.  You are a force for incredible change through Rotary and I can't make a change in our community without you!  I hope you will all feel empowered to join me in making a difference as we help lift the taboo around mental illness. We have a very special project designed to engage Middle School students through their Hope Squads. The Hope Squads are suicide prevention peer groups at both of District 91's Middle Schools that will work with us as liaisons on two service projects at each Middle School. These projects will be designed around helping youth recognize the healing power of service.  I hope you feel and see, that you are a part of a "Magical" organization of committed professionals around the world who create positive change and are influencers for good with a supernatural commitment to never back down on making a difference for good in our communities. I look forward to getting to know each of you better as we have fun, during bonding experiences, as we live our motto of "Service Above Self". Thank you, for all that each of you do to support your places of work, your organizations, and the Rotary Club of Idaho Falls, in making our home a better place through your "Magic" and commitment to Rotary!
