Ben Nelson, our Rotary District 5400 Foundation Chair, will provide a celebratory look at the great things that Rotary is doing as a result of our giving to the Rotary Foundation.

Ben Nelson is a proud Rotarian and is a member of THE Burley Rotary Club. He has served as a District Governor (2020-21), club president (multiple times), assistant governor (multiple times), district annual fund chair, and is currently serving as the District 5400 Foundation Chair. Ben is a member of the Paul Harris Society, Polio Plus Society, and is a Major Donor.

Ben was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. While attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah (BA Economics, 2002), he met and married Kristen Hardy from Oakley, Idaho. They have lived in Oakley since 2006. They have had six children: five boys and one girl.

Ben has worked in the banking industry since 2001, when he started as a part-time teller. He has worked his way up the banking ranks and is the Senior Vice President over Residential Mortgage Lending with D.L. Evans Bank. His hard work and commitment to his profession has resulted in him winning multiple awards, including the United States Department of Agriculture Certificate of Appreciation, the Times-News Readers' Choice Gold Level Winner as the Best Mortgage Lender, and the Idaho Business Review’s Accomplished Under 40 Award, their Excellence in Finance Award, and was recently named to their Idaho 500 list. In 2016, Ben received the prestigious Independent Community Bankers Association Community Banker of the Year Award for the Western United States.
