August 2022 President's Message

My Fellow Rotarians,

And just like that, our club has wrapped up yet another Duck Race, our 31st to be exact. Over the last three decades, we have successfully raised over $6 million dollars — that’s a lot of ducks! The sense of pride that should be felt as a Rotarian in the Idaho Falls Club should be high… The lasting impact of your contribution of time, talent, and treasure during the Duck Race and our many other club projects are invaluable for the betterment of our community and world. While we are all members of the Duck Race committee, I hope you will join me in expressing our extreme gratitude to Kevin Call for leading this incredible event where we were able to “adopt” an additional one thousand ducks from previous years for a total of 20,000 ducks!

With the Duck Race coming to a close, our Board is busy at work preparing for additional events and initiatives for this Rotary year. We’re looking forward to restarting many of our Club committees that had temporarily paused during the pandemic. I hope that you had the opportunity to join us at our August 17th Club meeting and were able to learn more about each Club committee to determine which committee aligns most with your desired involvement within our Club. If you were unable to join us, it’s not too late to join a Club committee! Be on the look out for an email asking you to respond to which committee you would like to participate on. Regardless if you’re interested in working on local or international service projects, helping area youth, recruiting new Rotarians, enjoy creating social media content, or would like to raise awareness in the Rotary Foundation — we have a committee for you!

Yours in Rotary,

Gina Stevenson
