Katie Fonnesbeck, College of Eastern Idaho Director, Early College Programs - "Growth and benefit of CEI’s Early College Program"

January is Rotary International "Vocational Service" month.
January Program Chairman:  Dave Facer
January Sergeant-At-Arms:  Greg Crockett & Cheryl O'Brien
January Greeter:  Steve Cannon

Katie has been at College of Eastern Idaho in academic advising since 2020. Since joining the Early College team as an advisor in 2022, she has found a deep passion for supporting high school students as they work to pursue unique college experiences. Katie attended BYU-I and Iowa State University for degrees in Sociology and Youth Development. With these degrees, Katie has spent hours attempting to understand the inner workings of the teenage brain (not an easy task). Using these tools and as an expert in college programs and transfer, she has worked to develop a new landscape of services provided to high school students, including in-high school advising days, registration support, and academic intervention.

After being named Director in the fall of last year, Katie is thrilled to continue forging an unforgettable path to high quality dual credit, guided pathways, student support, and program excellence. When she's not working on shaping futures, Katie enjoys wrangling her three young children, eating sushi with her husband, and baking yummy desserts.
