July 2022 President's Message

My Fellow Rotarians,

It’s “unofficially” official, we are in a new Rotary year and I am thrilled to start my first month as Club President of our club. I believe each of you echo my sense of gratitude for the leadership exhibited over the past 18+ months of our now Immediate Past President, Liza Leonard. Her dedication and style of leadership is a true example of Rotarian principles of which I am deeply grateful to have experienced during her time as our Club President.

As we move into the 2022-2023 Rotary year, we continue to see the great works of Rotarians throughout the world. One such Rotarian is our new Rotary International President, Jennifer Jones… And yes, you read that correct — Ms. Jennifer Jones, Rotary International’s first female president. For her Rotary year, her selected theme “Imagine Rotary” deserves a few moments of reflection. Imagine Rotary as we join with our fellow Rotarians to eradicate polio; Imagine Rotary as we join with our fellow Rotarians to provide clean drinking water to communities in desperate need of it; Imagine Rotary as we join with our fellow Rotarians to promote kindness and peace throughout the world.

In RI President Jennifer Jones’ announcement of this year’s Rotary theme, she stated, “Imagine a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference.” As we enter into this new Rotary year, I hope you will join me in driving home this year’s theme where we, as the Rotary Club of Idaho Falls get up each day knowing that we can make a difference not only in our local community but around the world by showing examples of what it truly means to be a Rotarian.

Yours in Rotary,

Gina Stevenson
