May is Rotary International "Youth Service" month.
Dustin was born and raised in Idaho Falls and has spent his entire life in this community. He and his wife have two sons, ages 15 and 17.
Before joining the Bonneville County Assessor’s Office, Dustin spent a couple of years working for a local title company, which gave him early exposure to property and real estate. He began working for the Assessor’s Office in 2003 and soon moved into an appraiser position.
Over the past 20-plus years, Dustin has worked in many parts of the assessment process and has seen firsthand how much Bonneville County has grown and changed. In 2017, he was promoted to Appraisal Supervisor and appointed Chief Deputy Assessor under then-Assessor Blake Mueller. When Blake retired in 2022, Dustin was appointed Bonneville County Assessor. He later ran for the office and began serving his first elected term in January 2023.
As Assessor, Dustin’s goal is to provide fair, accurate, and equitable assessments while helping property owners better understand how their values are determined. He knows the assessment process can feel complicated and unfamiliar, but it does not have to feel out of reach. His goal is to help people understand their value, answer questions, and make sure the office remains focused on accuracy and great customer service.
