July 2026 President's Message

As I begin my journey as President of this remarkable Rotary club, I am humbled and deeply grateful for the love, encouragement, and confidence you have placed in me. It is truly an honor to serve alongside such dedicated individuals who continually exemplify our Rotary motto, Service Above Self.

 

My heart is full because of the opportunities that lie ahead. I believe that we are all called to serve because no one should have to walk through life alone. Service has the power to restore hope, strengthen communities, and remind people that they matter. That is the spirit I hope we will continue to embrace throughout the coming year.

 

During my presidency, I will focus on two priorities that are especially meaningful to me: scholarships and intentional fellowship.

Scholarships have profoundly shaped my own journey in America. From college scholarships to graduate school opportunities and professional conferences, they have opened doors that have changed the course of my life. Education and professional development are investments that extend far beyond the individual, they strengthen families, communities, and future generations. Every student our club has supported carries a piece of Rotary with them, and I hope we continue expanding that legacy by creating even more opportunities for those who dream of a brighter future.

 

Equally important is intentional fellowship. Rotary is so much more than our Wednesday meetings, it is a family united by service. Intentional fellowship means reaching out to one another, checking in throughout the week, welcoming new members with genuine friendship, and ensuring every Rotarian feels seen, valued, and connected. Strong relationships within our club enable us to make an even greater impact in our community.

 

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our outgoing President, Stephen Boorman, whose leadership has strengthened our club in countless ways. I also extend my gratitude to our past presidents, board members, committee chairs, and every Rotarian who has faithfully served before us. Because of your vision, sacrifice, and dedication, we stand on a strong foundation and are well-positioned for another successful year.

 

For those who may not know me well, I was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, and still it's citizen. I came to the United States to pursue my education, where I met my wonderful wife. Today, Idaho is home, and together we are raising our three beautiful children. My journey eventually led me to the Idaho National Laboratory, where I have the privilege of working while continuing to serve our community through Rotary and other organizations.

 

I don't know exactly where life will lead me in the years ahead, but I do know this: wherever I am called to serve, I will do so with all my heart. Leadership, to me, is simply another opportunity to serve others.

 

Thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of leading our club this year. I am excited to work alongside our exceptional board and each one of you. There will undoubtedly be challenges, but there will also be countless opportunities to change lives, strengthen friendships, and leave our community better than we found it.

 

Together, let us continue to inspire hope, extend kindness, and demonstrate that Service Above Self is more than a motto, it is a way of life.
